Eukanuba Venison & Potato

This was part of a new line of dog food from Eukanuba that features their more “wild” flavors, and one of them is venison. It would make for an interesting comparison to the normal standard Eukanuba. It would appear a much better product over their standard but not by much. Venison is the main ingredient which is a good start for this product and they have used potato as their main source of carbohydrates.

In addition to the main ingredient they also make use of chicken meal and fish meal further down their list of ingredients to bring up the levels of protein in the food. They have also added egg product as a protein source.

The addition of Brewers rice is a bit of a disappointment as a filler. Maybe they would consider brown rice as an option in future products. The addition of Sorghum is also not very good and brings the overall quality of the product down a bit.

The product is still good for the price range that it is being sold in as the protein sources are good as the main ingredient and the benefit of adding fish meal adds to the value of the dog food due to its essential oils.

Overall not a bad dog food product and a step-up from their regular dog food being sold under the Eukanuba brand but not in the category of Nutro Ultra when it comes to quality.

Good Points:

They have excellent protein sources such as venison, chick and fish meal for additional fatty assets. They might want to review their use of brewers rice and sorghum in the future. Overall a good quality product.
