Iams Premium Protection

Iam not certain how long this product will last on the market as it is one of the most inflated prices I have ever seen for a dog food full of by-products and cheap fillers. This certainly can only sell while the consumer is blind to what it is that they are buying. Expensive does not mean good and this is a good example of it.

This product starts off with chicken by-product meal. These are the leftovers such as chicken guts which cannot otherwise be sold to consumers so it ends up in over-priced pet food such as this.

Corn is the next main ingredient and it just simply gets worst from there. Loads of filler products make up the bulk of the product including sorghum. There is some chicken right down at the bottom which makes up a very small percentage of the overall package.

If you have a dog with allergies then this is not the product for you. considering what it costs and what it contains I don’t think this is good for anyone. The markup on this product must be  very high! They had added barley lower in the list which is a good ingredient and fish meal but these are small amounts being added. As a final death knell for this product they also added brewers yeast.

Good Points:

There are small amounts of fish meal and also barley included in that but for the price this is simply not good enough. The other cheaper products they off such as Iams Healthy Naturals and Iams (Lamb & Rice) beats this at any price. Look for a better dog food or see one of their other products which are cheaper and much better than this.
