Merrick is a well know brand name in the US when it comes to dog food. They have over the years made a number of varieties of dog food for the market. This ‘Cowboy Cookout’ is something new. Its a mid range product and its ingredients confirm this.
Their main ingredient is beef and not beef meal which is concentrated beef aka no water included in the weight. They do have beef meal in their combination but it is further down the list in small quantities. They have included barley, oatmeal and also rice to the meal for carbohydrates.
This works out well as very few dogs have an allergy to these. Like other products hitting the market they have included fruit and vegetables into the dog food on offer and this is a good sign as it costs more to manufacture dog food with these in. The dog food also contains multivitamins to round it off. Overall a mid range dog product which is not bad.
