Pet Promise Health Nutrition

Loads of very slick marketing for Pet Promise much like the advertising done for Pedigree however where the advert stops and the ingredients begin is normally where the reality shows. The Pet Promise (Adult Health Nutrition) starts off well first its first main ingredient – chicken.

We would all like to have chicken meal as it is more concentrated than straight chicken but looking at the cost of this dog food you cannot realistically expect that. After this we have brewers rice which is not good for the dog as it contains very little nutrition. Then it is followed by Corn gluten which is also not very good as corn and wheat are well known problems in dog food as it does have the tendency to create allergies and its digestibility is not very good either. Soy flour is next which is also not a good grain to have in your pet food.

The pet food is cheap and very basic and overall it does cover the average person budget very well. I would in this price bracket still rather go for Kirkland Dog Food as it is much better balanced as a pet food in this price range.

Good Points:

There are no disgusting by-products in this pet-food and its protein source chicken is good. They also added barley in which is a good grain but this goodness is set-off against corn and soya. Overall its a good mid-range product and its price certainly reflects this.
