The Science Diet (Lamb & Rice) for dogs is not as bad as one might think considering the cost is simply put over the top. For what is in the diet might be good but it certainly does not justify the silly price it sells at.
They have started off the dog food well enough with lamb meal. This makes up the bulk of the dog food. The next ingredient is brewers rice which is not good as it adds no real value. Rice flower as the third largest makes it even wost. They have gone on to add corn and wheat which created allergies in some dogs takes this dog food to the bottom of my list.
They have done a few things right like add soybean oil and barley and have also added flaxseed for fiber and Omega 3 fatty acids.
The bulk of the meal is lamb which is good as well as the addition of flaxseed and barley. There is however to many grains in this food considering the price for which it sells at. This is almost like trying to sell a Toyota for the price of a BMW. Middle of the road dog food but at a ridicules price considering what it contains.
